The first show of De Nieuwe Uri Geller invited me to pick up two watched that stopped working. An old Swatch with empty battery and granddad’s (from mother’s side) golden watch. At the count of three, I had that one in my hands. It did not work. I picked up the Swatch and put granddad’s on the table. 123..walk! The Swatch also did not work. And the third time… still nothing. But then, on the table, granddad’s watch was running. Ola!

This morning Koos’ car started to fail. Me in it on the A20 highway near Schiedam. It seamed like it lost power. It would not speed up anymore. Dropping speed 70…60… gearing down to 3… to 2. No extra speed. On the leftmost lane. Danm. Do I need to make an emergency stop. Maybe. Move one lane to the right. Move to the rightmost lane….40 ..30 maybe. The emergency lane is about to end there, not to return for miles. Still no power.. let’s park!

Get my bag. Get out. Jump the security wall.  Hmmm. Are they coming for me now? Nothing happens. Damn. I need to make a call. Wish that damn phone still worked!

Walk the side of the highway. No emergency phone pole.Ended up at the gas station -  the one where I often get a small bite when I make this trip on the bike. The guy calls the ANWB for me. Koos has that pass, it’s right here. What is your plate number? Really don’t know. Oh, its written down here…

After 10 minutes They Come To Save Me.  I can hop in at the front of this nice car. Wow. This is really something else for a free ride.

He drops me & my car off at some gas station. His colleague shows up 15 minutes later.None of them really did something. Open this here. Check that.

Car works again. Go!

In the past I’ve presumed to be relying on principles quite a lot. No meat, no car, no fly. No Microsoft. No mortgage.

But, last spring we really wanted to move.It was too noisy over there. And whop, there’s that mortgage. And you know that I kno that 500 people own half the planet’s money and we do nothing but work for them and their interest.

This is even worse.  Today, I’ve been installing Windows XP on that laptop. Indeed, I need it to run Gamemaker and give the children their grades. The Boss has been complaining where the grades are. Currently, I’m installing the Free AVG virus scanner again. A waste of time. And I didn’t manage to keep Ubuntu in the dual-boot mode. Well I’ll just reinstall that.

Uncle Ton now has a car for sale. A car ? Do you know how much time that thing will save me every day?

Due to the move I’ve been offline since last sunday. Over 100 hours. Ooff.

Happy everything worked pretty quickly. Brought up my ADSL-connection even before  XS$ALL could pick up the phone.

Cause of the problem: My IP address was fixed in the router. After the move, they really gave me a new one.
