After a weekend of googling and getting tips from Rick here are the options:
- In our area of the Netherlands, SolarNRG is top of the market. Their best offer I could make is 10 panels of SHARP NU E235E1 for almost € 7.500,- delivering 2350 WP. Main problem: the garden shed can only hold 3 or 4 of these panels. Price ranges start at 4 panels here.
- Energieker.nl has a nice Solar Kit. This includes 3x Scheuten P6-54 of each 190 WP = 570 WP. Price: € 2.250,-
- Peveco offers a starter kit including 3x 180 WP, probably from Powerbags. This firm appeals to the DIY-techie: installing a solar panel is like installing a DVD player. Well, we can do that.
Completing a solar project appears to involve the following:
- Power. Solar systems use the unit WP: Watt Peak: The power delivered at 100% sun shine. 100WP produces 75 KWh electricity a year. My household uses about 2000 KWh a year. This urges a desire for 3000 WP.
- Area. Where are you going to put these panels? The usual way is the roof, but we don’t have a roof of our own. The garden shed has a roof of 225 x 340 cm on the sunny side.
- Subsidies. This appears to be more work than required. After filling in all the paperwork and letting the certified companies do the work, we may find out there are no subsidies given.
- Sell back. Producing more than 500 WP in a circuit breaker group, you will need an extra group on this system. Also, you may need an extra system if you sell more power than you take from the net.
- Installation. We’ll see about that!
